Todo List
- Make sure work is completely on schedule with no surprises.
- Decide if I'll be writing locally in Word again, or if I'll swtich to Writely.
- Sketch out a story arc with corresponding wordcount markers, e.g. introduce main character's mom's side story by 5,000 words.
- Flesh out central conflict -- I'm still confused over this.
- Figure out reward system for this year.
What else would you suggest?
7 Comments:
1. Cook and freeze some casseroles.
2. Organize at least one "writing party"
3. Borrow or buy (or own?) a voice recorder so you can dictate while working out.
Those are great suggestions!
Have you decided if you are gonna give it a go this year?
Not a chance in hell. I know when I'm oversaturated already. I'm -><- this close to finding a work/life balance that is sustainable. NaNoWriMo would kill that. :(
It's good to know your resource constraints. I only asked because you had mentioned maybe writing during your train rides. :)
Wow, I forgot all about that.
It's funny. I used to get bored if I couldn't listen to my iPod or in some other way distract myself when I worked out. But after that hard-core triathlon training and hanging out with Samo all the time, I find that my workout isn't nearly as good if I distract myself. When I focus on my breathing, pace, legs, arms, posture, surroundings, motivation, etc I get a much higher quality workout, and I stay fully engaged and interested now. Not sure what changed. :)
Me == confused, since I had thought that you were referring previously to the Caltrain ride, not riding/physically training. My memory is not what it used to be! :)
Oh, I read "train" as "training"... not sure why. I'm sure you are right and I am wrong.
The reason that won't work either: I will have a motorcycle and a car during the month of November, and will surely not be taking the train that often anymore.
I'm full of excuses!
